Firefox have finally added support for Web App Manfest files, one of the corner stones of progressive web apps.  This means the app can be added to the user's homescreen on Android devices and will work offline just like an app downloaded from the app store.

There is still some way to go for Mozilla to catch up with Google and their Chrome browser but it's a start, and it's still way ahead of Apple's offering who continue to drag their heals on PWAs in a seemingly synical attempt to protect their app store ecosystem.
